Desk Report:
Since the change of power last year, protests and sieges have been seen in front of the BCB office at various times. Sometimes these programs were for demanding match tickets, sometimes for demanding the return of Shakib Al Hasan to the team. However, this time, BNP leader and councilor candidate from Brothers Union Engineer Ishraq Hossain has threatened to siege the BCB, accusing the government of interference in the BCB elections and demanding that they be stopped.
Many councilor candidates including Tamim Iqbal were present at the press conference organized in Dhaka today under the banner of players and organizers at the district, division and club levels in Dhaka. Ishraq Hossain was also present there. He threatened to siege the BCB there.
Ishraq Hossain said, “The current government is a temporary and interim government. They are trying to get political benefits by involving themselves in various ways. I will only say this much, no peaceful solution can be brought by such activities. No one is voting to make concessions to anyone. We do not want any political faction in this election. “We want only qualified district, division and renowned organizers to be nominated as councilors. There is no place in the constitution that nominations have to be made from an ad hoc committee. If this is exaggerated, the BCB will be surrounded if necessary.”
